VIETTI AND LÓPEZ END SPANISH GP QUALIFYING IN P12 AND P13

The Beta Tools SpeedRS Team riders wrapped up qualifying at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto by securing the thirteenth and fourteenth positions, respectively. Celestino Vietti will start tomorrow from the fourth row, while Alonso López will line up on the fifth.

The day began with significantly lower track temperatures compared to yesterday. In FP2, Alonso posted the sixteenth fastest time with a 1’40.617, while in qualifying he secured 13th with a 1’40.492. Rider number 21 will start tomorrow from the fifth row of the grid.

Celestino delivered a great performance in the second free practice session, finishing third fastest with a 1’40.171, despite a late crash from which he emerged unscathed. In Q2, Vietti confirmed a solid race pace, although he wasn’t able to secure a spot in the front rows. The Italian rider ended qualifying in 12th place with a 1’40.484 and will start from the fourth row tomorrow.

ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 13th in 1’40.492
“The feeling is good, but we could have done more. In qualifying, I wasn’t able to put together a perfect lap, so we’ll be starting from the fifth row tomorrow. Obviously, it’s not the position we were aiming for, but we have a good pace and we can recover. It’ll be important to get a strong start and attack from the very first laps”.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 12th in 1’40.484
“We made a good step forward and the feeling with the bike has improved. This morning, we were able to make good use of the new tire, both on the flying lap and on race pace, so I’m happy. Unfortunately, in the afternoon I wasn’t able to put together a really clean lap to get into the front rows. I couldn’t repeat the morning’s time, so we’ll be starting a bit further back. However, the sensations are positive: with a good start, we can recover and try to fight for better positions. It won’t be an easy race due to the heat, tire management, and physical strain, but we’ll give it our all”.
