UPHILL START FOR THE BETA TOOLS SPEEDRS TEAM RIDERS ON DAY ONE OF THE BRITISH GP
The British Grand Prix weekend got off to a challenging start for the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team, who faced an intense opening day at the Silverstone Circuit as they worked to find the ideal setup.
Celestino Vietti and Alonso López used the first Free Practice session to gather key references and adapt their riding style to the characteristics of the Boscoscuro, finishing in P16 (2’04.295) and P17 (2’04.557) respectively.
In the afternoon, both crews focused on fine-tuning the setup, aiming to strike the best balance between rider and bike. Times improved during Practice, but not enough to close in on the leading positions. Vietti ended the day in 20th position (2’03.699), with López just behind in 21st (2’03.702).
The Beta Tools SpeedRS Team will continue working on setup adjustments ahead of tomorrow’s Q1 session, with the goal of securing a spot in Q2 and fighting for the front rows.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 21st in 2’03.702
“Today wasn’t easy. We struggled more than expected to find the right feeling with the bike. Silverstone is a demanding circuit and requires precision in every sector. We tried several solutions this afternoon and, although the times improved, we’re still not where we want to be. Tomorrow we’ll aim to take another step forward to be competitive in Q1 and try to secure a place in Q2”.
CELESTINO VIETTI #13: 20th in 2’03.699
“It wasn’t a smooth Friday. We’re running several tests to analyze how things have evolved since the start of the season and figure out which direction to take to close the gap to the front, because we’re still missing something and need to move forward. That said, I’m fairly satisfied; we’ve clarified some important things and are starting to dig deeper into others. We’ll get closer soon, although it’s not a quick or simple process. Tomorrow we’ll try to take a step forward, aiming first for Q2 and then we’ll see what we can do here”.
