L\u00f3pez finished the three free practices with the sixth fastest time in 2&#8217;04.844, thus gaining direct access to Q2. The BritishGP qualifying was more complicated than expected due to the different track conditions. Alonso, after a few laps canceled by the yellow flag, managed to pull the rabbit out of the hat on the last lap of the QP, finishing with the eighth time and then the third row in 2&#8217;04.697.<\/p>\n<p>The English Saturday was more difficult for the CAG SpeedUp team 54. A crash towards the end of FP3 stopped Ferm\u00edn who thus concluded free practice in P17 in 2\u201905.479. Upon returning to the track ready to face Q1, the young Spaniard was unable to find the right feeling to reach the top positions and thus move on to the next phase, finishing in twentieth position and therefore seventh row.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALONSO L\u00d3PEZ #21: 8th in 2&#8217;04.697<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI&#8217;m happy with how qualifying went today. The truth is that I didn&#8217;t leave anything in my pocket, I shot 100% and I couldn&#8217;t do more than that. It is also true that the track conditions have changed and what we missed was to change our driving; this surely would have helped us to do better. However, we are happy with the work done and focused on tomorrow&#8217;s race because with the pace we have we can do well! Thanks a lot to the team for what they have done so far, let&#8217;s continue like this!!\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>FERM\u00cdN ALDEGUER #54: 20th in 2&#8217;05.227<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cObviously I&#8217;m not very happy with today&#8217;s result. Tomorrow we start from the twentieth position, like the race in Holland, and we have to find all the motivation possible to get back to having fun when we are on the bike which is what we miss and is also the most important thing. We have to try to recover as many positions as possible from the first laps and then give our all to the end as we have always done.
