TEAM HDR HEIDRUN<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

THE HDR HEIDRUN TEAM HAS OFFICIALLY KICKED OFF THE 2025 SEASON. L\u00d3PEZ MADE IT DIRECTLY INTO Q2, WHILE VIETTI WILL NEED TO GO THROUGH Q1 FIRST\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The HDR Heidrun team officially kicked off the 2025 season with the first day of practice at the Thai Grand Prix, in Buriram. Despite the intense heat, which tested both riders and teams, L\u00f3pez and Vietti faced the challenge with great determination, finishing in P10 and P16, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the key changes this year concerns the qualifying format: the afternoon practice session is now the only session that determines direct entry into Q2 on Saturday. This made it crucial for the riders to focus from the very first laps to achieve the best possible result.<\/span><\/p>\n

Number 21 secured a tenth-place finish with a time of 1’35.424, gaining direct access to Q2 and confirming his good feeling with the bike. Celestino Vietti, with a sixteenth-place time of 1’35.548, will need to go through Q1 tomorrow, but he is just +0.518 behind the day’s leader and not far from his teammate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the day, both riders carried out several tire change simulations, a crucial element for understanding the race strategy for Sunday. The choice of the right tire for the high track temperatures will be decisive, and the data collected today, along with that from tomorrow, will guide the strategy to approach the race in the best way.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Since I couldn’t fully participate in the tests, today we tried several new setups, and I am trying to gather all the information possible for the race. The goal today was to feel comfortable with the bike and qualify for Q2, especially considering that this is a track with many straights, which aren’t my strong point. I feel positive for tomorrow, although there’s still a lot of work to do. My priority right now is to maintain good consistency, so I will focus on that rather than aiming for pole position\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

“It was an overall positive day. In terms of pace, we’re not in a bad position, and despite the tire degradation, we manage to maintain good consistency.
