TEAM HDR HEIDRUN<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

FOURTH AND SIXTH ROW FOR HDR HEIDRUN TEAM RIDERS IN THE AMERICAS GP QUALIFYING<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The qualifying session for the Grand Prix of the Americas at COTA has just ended, with Alonso L\u00f3pez and Celestino Vietti starting from the eleventh and eighteenth positions on the grid, respectively, in tomorrow\u2019s race.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day began with a track still partially damp in some spots, but overall in significantly better conditions compared to the previous day, allowing for a considerable drop in lap times. In FP2, despite a slide at turn 11, rider #21 clocked the tenth fastest time of the session with a lap of 2\u201909.380. During the afternoon’s Q2, the Spanish rider was unable to find the ideal pace to fight for the front rows but still managed to secure eleventh position. Thanks to his lap time of 2\u201908.255, L\u00f3pez will start tomorrow from the fourth row.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A more challenging day for Vietti, who after setting the twelfth fastest time in FP2 (2:09.637), was unable to improve his performance in qualifying. In his final time attack attempt, a yellow flag caused by Baltus\u2019s crash compromised his chance to achieve a more competitive lap time, forcing Vietti to settle for eighteenth place with a lap of 2\u201910.233, placing him on the sixth row of the starting grid.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Today\u2019s qualifying was tougher than expected. I had good feelings in the morning, but in the afternoon, I couldn’t put together the perfect lap. We will start from the fourth row, so it will be important to get a good start and immediately gain positions”.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
