MB CONVEYORS SPEEDUP

FP1/FP2: EXCELLENT RESULTS FOR MB CONVEYORS SPEED UP. ALONSO AND FERMÍN IN THIRD AND FOURTH POSITION AT THE MUGELLO AUTODROME.

The SpeedUp Team get back on track to face the eighth round of the 2023 Moto2 Championship at the memorable Mugello circuit. With the livery change by MB Conveyors color, Alonso López and Fermín Aldeguer concluded the first day of the Italian GP in third and fourth position respectively.

López closed the first free practice session in P3 at 1’51.193 demonstrating the hard work done together with the team during the tests of the previous weeks. In FP2 he improved but fails to ower his time significantly. Therefore, he maintained the third position in the combined classification with a gap of +0.265 from the first.

Even Aldeguer closed FP1 in the morning with a good pace. After an initial pitstop, Fermín returned to the track safely astride his Boscoscuro and finished in fourth position with a time of 1’51.246. The asphalt temperature increased during FP2 in the afternoon and unfortunately, this didn’t lead to great improvements. The number 54 confirmed the morning time (1’51.246) and positioned himself in P4 of the combined standings +0.318 behind the leading driver.

Team 21 and team 54 will continue to work in view of tomorrow’s qualifying to achieve even better results on a certainly challenging track.

“This day ended well. With the used tire we are quick while with the new tire we have to refine a couple of things but after all, we are happy with the work done today. Tomorrow we can improve even more.”

“I am very happy with how the first day went. I had some great first sensations with the bike and we worked a lot on the pace. We finish in P4 and this means that we will continue on the same line of work waiting to do even better tomorrow.”
