LIGHTECH SPEED UP

FREE PRACTICES: DIFFICULT AUSTRIAN GP START FOR LIGHTECH SPEEDUP TEAM

The second round at the Red Bull Ring began today with the two free practices of the Austrian GP. A tiring start for LighTech SpeedUp, in which Navarro and Montella classified respectively in p23 and p30.

Jorge Navarro ended the first session in p20 with a time of 1’29.633 (gap +0.746). The difficulties encountered by the rider, especially at the front, did not help team 9 to lower the lap time and the storm in the previous hours complicated the second session track conditions. In tomorrow’s FP3 Jorge and his team will try to reach the first 14 positions and thus obtain direct access to Q2.

Complicated Friday for team 5 although FP2 went better than FP1. Montella managed to lower the morning lap time but still haven’t found the way to improve. 1’30.399 the final time (gap +1.512).

JORGE NAVARRO #9: 23rd in 1’29.633

“First day quite complicated. We started with the setting base of the last race making some small changes but we were not able to make the leap we hoped to do. The team is working very hard and I with them. I hope that continuing to work we will be able to find a way to improve and reach the positions we deserve”.

YARI MONTELLA #5: 30th in 1’30.399

“We have proven that on a technical level there have been changes on one side but worsened on the other. But let’s say we know how to fix the worsening. It was a bad day, but we know we can work to improve both the fastest lap and race pace in view of qualifying”.
