QUALIFYING: THIRD AND SEVENTH ROW FOR TERMOZETA SPEEDUP AT RICARDO TORMO CIRCUIT

At the Ricardo Tormo circuit the Termozeta SpeedUp team concluded the last qualifying of the 2021 Moto2 Championship with the ninth position of Jorge Navarro and the twenty-second place of Fermín Aldeguer.

Jorge confirmed to be fast and competitive also on the second day of the Grand Prix de la Comunitat Valenciana. At the end of the third free practice session, team 9 obtained direct access to Q2 with the eleventh time of the combined in 1’35.633 at +0.421 from the first. Tough and adrenaline-pumping qualifying on this penultimate racing day in which the gap between one rider and the other is really minimal. P9 and third row at the end of QP for Navarro who finished the day in 1’35.153 just 0.197 tenths from the first.

A somewhat unlucky day for Aldeguer who missed direct access to Q2 by only +0.089 cents with a time of 1’35.803. Good sensations and a good pace show the progress of the number 54 during FP3 in the morning and give hope for good qualifying. The start of Q1 saw Aldeguer in the top four until the crash just few minutes from the end which ended his run to Q2. P21 at the end of the day and seventh row with a time of 1’35.477.

JORGE NAVARRO #9: 9th in 1’35.153

“Second positive day. It is truly amazing this home Grand Prix in front of so many people after all this time! As for the work on track, this morning we took a step forward compared to yesterday and in qualifying well, we are very close to the front row, less than two tenths of a second and therefore it was a positive day. We need to improve some details before tomorrow because it will be a very competitive race in which we can fight for the top positions!”.

FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 21st in 1’35.477

“A bit bittersweet final because I felt very comfortable with the bike and the track but in the end we couldn’t find the fastest lap to go to Q2. In any case, I’m happy with the pace we have for tomorrow’s race, the sensations are very good and nothing, I am looking forward to it and tomorrow to give 100%!”.
