P1 AND NEW TRACK RECORD FOR ALDEGUER ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE QATAR GP. P9 FOR LÓPEZ

The first day of the penultimate round of the Championship has just come to an end. First position and new track record for Aldeguer and eighth place for López.

At the Losail International Circuit, the number 54 was the undisputed protagonist of the day thanks to the best time in both sessions. 2’01.097 at the end of FP1 and 1’58.059 at the end of the second free practice with which he set the new track record.

Alonso and his team worked on setting up the Boscoscuro and after finishing FP1 in P15 with a time of 2’03.442, López adjusted his pace in the following session, closing with the ninth fastest time in 1’58.927, at +0.868 from his teammate.

ALDEGUER #54: 1st in 1’58.059

“I’m happy with the record but we still need to improve on the set-up because the feeling isn’t one hundred percent. We still have to work on the pace and a small change can make the difference. Furthermore, we still have to get used to racing in the evening because the references change.”

LÓPEZ #21: 9th in 1’58.927

“Good feelings today. If we fix a few small details, we can definitely do better tomorrow. Let’s see what will happen tomorrow”.
