PROVE LIBERE AMERICAS GP: ALDEGUER FIRMA IL MIGLIOR TEMPO E IL NUOVO RECORD DELLA PISTA. LÓPEZ OTTAVO
Sono tornati in pista quest’oggi i piloti del Beta Tools SpeedUp per affrontare il terzo appuntamento del Campionato Mondiale Moto2 ad Austin, Texas. Aldeguer e López hanno concluso la giornata di prove libere piazzandosi rispettivamente in prima e ottava posizione.
Durante la sessione del mattino, la squadra 54 ha concentrato il proprio lavoro sulla messa a punto della Boscoscuro e ha testato la nuova gomma anteriore senza effettuare cambi durante la prova. Fermín ha chiuso la prima sessione in diciassettesima posizione in 2’10.406, ma ha dimostrato poi nelle FP1 un notevole progresso conquistando il primo posto e stabilendo il nuovo record della pista in 2’08.359. Un risultato promettente in vista delle qualifiche di domani.
La squadra 21 ha sfruttato i 40 min delle Free Practice per studiare al meglio il tracciato iconico di Austin, mentre nel pomeriggio ha lavorato su diversi cambi gomme al fine di ottenere più informazioni possibili per affrontare al meglio la gara. Il pilota di Madrid ha concluso le FP in terza posizione in 2’09.359, migliorando ulteriormente nelle FP1 grazie al crono di 2’09.044. A soli +0.685 dal suo compagno di squadra, Alonso ha terminato il venerdì americano in P8.

“Nelle FP non mi sono trovato totalmente bene. Abbiamo girato con la gomma usata posteriore e con la nuova davanti provando diversi setting. Durante le FP1 invece ho fatto un gran miglioramento. Ottimo ritmo e buon passo gara che mi hanno permesso di segnare il nuovo record della pista nell’ultimo giro della sessione”.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 8° in 2’09.044
“Oggi è stata una giornata positiva. Nella prova di questa mattina siamo scesi in pista per conoscere un po’ di più la pista e adattarci al tracciato, mentre nel pomeriggio abbiamo lavorato a diverse configurazioni e cambi di pneumatico. Siamo molto soddisfatti di questo ottavo posto e sicuri che domani entreremo in Q2”.

The Beta Tools SpeedUp riders returned to the track today to face the third round of the Moto2 World Championship in Austin, Texas. Aldeguer and López concluded the day of free practice placing first and eighth respectively.
During the morning session, team 54 concentrated its work on setting up the Boscoscuro and tested the new front tire without making any changes during the test. Fermín closed the first session in seventeenth position in 2’10.406, but then demonstrated notable progress in FP1 by taking first place and setting a new track record in 2’08.359. A promising result in view of tomorrow’s qualifying.
Team 21 used the 40 minutes of Free Practice to better study the iconic Austin track, while in the afternoon they worked on several tire changes in order to obtain as much information as possible to best tackle the race. The rider from Madrid finished FP in third place in 2’09.359, improving further in FP1 by recording a time of 2’09.044. Just +0.685 behind his teammate, Alonso finished the American Friday in P8.

“In the FP I didn’t feel totally good. We ran with the used rear tire and the new front tire trying different settings. During FP1, however, I made a big improvement. Excellent pace which allowed me to set the new track record on the last lap of the session”.
ALONSO LÓPEZ #21: 8th in 2’09.044
“Today was a positive day. In this morning’s sessions we tried to know the track a little more and adapt to the track, while in the afternoon we worked on different configurations and tire changes. We are very satisfied with this eighth place and confident that tomorrow we will enter Q2″.
