MB CONVEYORS SPEED UP

FREE PRACTICES GRAND PRIX OF DOHA: NAVARRO P17 AND MONTELLA P23

After the Qatar Grand Prix, the second round of the 2021 Moto2 World Championship, the Grand Prix of Doha has begun today once again at the Losail International Circuit.

On the first day of free practices, MB Conveyors SpeedUp riders took seventeenth and twenty-third place in the combined classification.

Jorge Navarro closed the first free practice session in p11 with a time of 2’00.766 (+0.835) adapting to the high temperatures of the track. Jorge started well the second session, on the fourth lap on the track he stopped the clock at 1’59.792 with used tires. In the second run Navarro went out on track with new tires but did not find the desired feeling closing with the seventeenth time.

A more complicated day instead for Montella, still in the learning phase. The number five of the team worked on Boscoscuro bike set up in both sessions, finding improvements in the second run at the end of the session. Yari closed the first day in p23 with a time of 2’00.244.

JORGE NAVARRO #9: 17th in 1’59.792

“In the end it wasn’t a super good day for us. This morning we started with some changes to the bike that had positive and negative feedback. In the afternoon we worked well with the used tires, but I don’t know what happened when we put on the new tires because the rear part worked differently from the one we had before, probably the tire didn’t work well. Unfortunately for this reason we are out of Q2 tomorrow but, in any case, we must remain optimistic because we can still fight and this is what we will do”.

YARI MONTELLA #5: 23rd in 2’00.244“Today I was hoping to start the weekend differently. We are still in the learning phase, but today we just can’t find the way. We tried several changes to the setting but we couldn’t find a good feeling. We will analyze the data before tomorrow’s session to understand where to focus our work”.
