LIGHTECH SPEED UP

QUALIFYING: FOURTH AND NINTH ROW FOR THE LIGHTECH SPEEDUP TEAM IN THE GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA

Jorge Navarro and Yari Montella will start tomorrow respectively from the fourth and ninth row of the starting grid of the Spanish Grand Prix.

Navarro was fast and constant at the end of FP3, who obtained direct access to Q2 with an excellent third time in the combined free practice classification in 1’40.912 just +0.071 from the first. Jorge started the session by lapping fast immediately and on the second lap on the track he set his best time of qualifying in 1’41.458, finishing twelfth.

On the other hand, the Spanish Saturday is more complicated for rookie Montella although his continued growth in driving the Boscoscuro bike. Yari and his team could not find the fastest lap to go directly to Q2 and therefore had to face Q1. Unfortunately, a crash compromised Montella’s qualifying and so he will start tomorrow from the ninth row of the starting grid in twenty-sixth position.

JORGE NAVARRO #9: 12th in 1’41.458

“This morning we started Saturday very well: good pace and the sensations were also good. With the soft tire I managed to set a good time finishing in third place and thus obtaining the Q2. Unfortunately, in qualifying, with the rising temperatures, I found it difficult to ride the bike with vibration problems and bad grip. We need to understand where we can improve to be more competitive in the race”.

MONTELLA #5: 26th in 1’41.974

“Black day. We have done little and collected less. Let’s see tomorrow, today it went like this and tomorrow we have to recover what we can. I feel good to be able to do it and so it’s up to us to do it!”.
