QUALIFICHE: QUINTA E OTTAVA FILA PER IL LIGHTECH SPEEDUP TEAM

I piloti LighTech SpeedUp sono tornati in pista quest’oggi per determinare la posizione nella griglia di partenza della gara del Gran Premio del Portogallo, che si terrà domani, in via esclusiva, alle 14.30 ora locale.

Anche nella giornata di oggi pioggia e vento hanno messo tutti alla prova condizionando la sessione di libere del mattino. Aldeguer ha trovato il feeling sul bagnato e con il penultimo giro su 11 ha segnato il secondo miglior tempo delle FP3, e terzo della classifica combinata in 2’00.990 guadagnandosi le Q2. Per la prima volta la squadra 54 ha affrontato la pista asciutta proprio durante le qualifiche finali concludendo con il quindicesimo tempo in 1’45.304. Fermin partirà quindi dalla quinta fila in quindicesima posizione.

Romano non è riuscito ad abbassare il tempo segnato durante le FP1 concludendo le libere in p25 con il crono 2’03.098. Al via delle qualifiche 1 la pista si presentava asciutta con tratti ancora bagnati complicando ancora una volta le condizioni di guida. Nei quindici minuti a disposizione Fenati ha concluso 7 giri fermando il suo crono a 1’46.787. P24 e ottava fila nella griglia di domani per il numero 5 del team.

FERMÍN ALDEGUER #54: 15° in 1’45.304

“Contento di com’è andato questo secondo giorno. Questa mattina sul bagnato mi son trovato molto bene, finalmente ho ritrovato le sensazioni di cui necessitavo chiudendo le FP3 in seconda posizione. È vero che le qualifiche non sono andate come speravamo, ma abbiamo in ogni caso ottenuto riscontri positivi sull’asciutto. Speriamo che il tempo si stabilizzi e niente, pronti per la gara!”.

ROMANO FENATI #5: 24° in 1’46.787

“Purtroppo oggi sono state condizioni difficili. In qualifica non avevamo mai girato sull’asciutto e ci siamo trovati in difficoltà soprattutto perché in pista c’erano parti ancora bagnate. Abbiamo cercato di fare il massimo ma non siamo riusciti a raggiungere il risultato che speravamo. Per domani cercheremo di risolvere alcuni problemi sulla messa a punto della moto prima della gara per poi lottare fino in fondo!”.

QUALIFYING: FIFTH AND EIGHT ROW FOR THE LIGHTECH SPEEDUP TEAM

The LighTech SpeedUp riders returned to the track today to determine their position on the starting grid for the Grand Prix of Portugal, which will be held exclusively tomorrow at 2.30pm local time.

Even today, rain and wind conditioned the last free practice session in the morning. Aldeguer found the feeling in the wet and with the penultimate lap of 11 he set the second best time in FP3, and third in the combined classifying in 2’00.990, earning Q2. Team 54 dealt with the dry track for the first time during final qualifying, finishing with the time 1’45.304. Fermin will therefore start from the fifth row in fifteenth position.

Romano was unable to lower the time set during FP1, finishing free practice in p25 with a time of 2’03.098. At the start of qualifying 1 the track was dry with sections that were still wet, once again complicating the driving conditions. In the fifteen minutes available, Fenati completed 7 laps, stopping his time at 1’46.787. P24 and eighth row in tomorrow’s grid for team number 5.

“Happy with how this second day went. This morning I found myself very well in the wet, I finally found the sensations I needed by closing FP3 in second position. It’s true that qualifying didn’t go as we hoped, but we still got positive results in the dry. Let’s hope that the weather will stabilize and nothing, ready for the race!”.

“Unfortunately, today were difficult conditions. In qualifying we had never lapped in dry conditions and we found ourselves in difficulty especially because there were still wet parts on the track. We tried to do our best but we couldn’t reach the result we hoped for. For tomorrow we will try to solve some problems on the set-up of the bike before the race and then fight to the end!”.
